Was that way in my younger days, nowadays, I take my toolbox to thoroughly test any motor I come accross. I also tell/ ask the owner before heading out if I can go thru it. If he says no, I don't bother going. When people come to look at motors I have for sale, I tell them come on out, I have tools here for you to use !! At my age, would much rather be playing than wrenching, but there was a time when wrenching on them was not an issue.
