I recently picked up a free boat. The person I received it from got it in a wheel and deal trade with some other things he wanted. The guys said it was a 1959-60 Glassgo. There is really very little online about such an old boat. The previous owner had replaced some of the floor and stringers but looks like he did a half job finishing the top deck. To me it looks like they cut around the sandwich to get the deck off. Anyhow the inside where the top and bottom halves come together was glassed and no seems are visible. I plan on sanding down the top deck to the glass and refinishing. Where I am not sure what to do is around the flanged halves. What i am thinking is cutting the rest of the flange off and sanding down nearly flat. After I am thinking about laminating new glass to further join the two halves. Anybody think this is a good or bad Idea?

3-4 posts will let you post pics. I would not grind the gelcoat off down to the glass as it may be more work to get it smoothed out. Lets see some pics first.

Hey lazar, theyre all dirty when we get them, make sure your pic sizes meet the requirements here, I use about 400 kb, or they wont post.

Looking forward to seeing your new project!
