Im looking at a 1964 lone star medallion , I was wondering if anyone had a idea of what this boat might weigh. I have looked everywhere with no luck. I have a great running little evinrude 50hp. Im just wondering if that's going to be enough hp to get her around.

that's about what I was thinking Im not looking to run 60mph. does these aluminum boats like the medallion have structure in the closed bow portion, in other words could you make into a center console

Ayuh,.... It's a 50 year old hull,..... Who knows what's there, til ya Look,....

As for convertin' it,...
Any closed bow, needs more support to replace the support lost with the removal of the deckin'/ dash,....

I really hate to cut these old boats up, but this one is fairly beat up so it wouldn't be as much of a bad thing to cut it up. that being said this closed boat is really cool looking with the sliding hatch on the bow. just loose some fishing space

Re: lonstar 17ft medallion

well I got the boat home come to find out its not a medallion its a older version called the Holiday, and let me tell u shes rough, rotten floor, rotten transom, no wind shield, homemade camo paint job, and best of all a fork lift seat. and a 1960 Johnson 40 that's the size of a 75hp fourstroke. the good news is she seems to be very strt. no dents, or gouges, the aluminum itself looks great, the coverd bow is very short, so im still thinking about making her a center console, maybe anyway. Ill get some pics up soon as I can I got a new computer still learning how to get around this thing
