Its one of the scams that has started showing up on boat motors lately. The first ones started on eBay then in Texas (Houston maybe). It usually involves a deal that is too good to pass up and within the normal credit card limits. They want you to pay by credit card. They then charge all kinds of things to your credit card. A lot of people don't hesitate to give them the card number because they figure that if there are any problems the credit card company takes the hit. It still is going to be a big problem for you though if you fall for it.
It's obviously a scam. As you pointed out, Optimax is a 2-stroke engine, correct? He just listed what he thought would show up in most searches. Just like it is listed with stainless prop but that's not what's in the pic.
So why not pay with cash? And walk away with one hell of a deal? Hell...If I had $2000 sitting around right now I'd probably fly to new york tomarrow to pick it up...
