Re: looking for flywheel

its a work in progress. I have a 1980s lined block, a 2000 ignition this is a engine that I converted from the mercosil block. running the 1997 lower. sweet running machine. im running race reeds and have the timing bumped up a tad. I mix a lil extra fuel/oil to compensate. so to put it mildly, its not factory. any xs flywheel info would be appreciated. im too heavy up top. I want to go to the lighter flywheel

Re: looking for flywheel

Try S&F. There are a "few" (not many) little motor guys over there...............

Re: looking for flywheel

Do a search on here of "salvage yards" and one of them might have one of the flywheels that you need. You can also go to the dealer near you and they can do a search of the mercury dealers that have one. JMO

Re: looking for flywheel

You should be able to lighten your existing flywheel. that is going to be a hard motor to find a factory wheel for. Simon Motorsports could get a couple of pounds off it. All depends on your budget.

FWIW Mercury lists that part as 8274A 6 for $350 ish which they cross to half a dozen other motors and so it may not be the actual lightened wheel.
