Looking for info on my 72 merc 1350

It's a 72 with tilt/trim and quicksilver stainless peop
I'm not sure if i have an interest in running it unless it's worth fixing the one low cyl.

What would a used powerhead cost?

is it worth me parting it out?

Whats the pitch on the prop? I might be interested..
The rest? Jezzz, power tim motor alone worth a bunch, PT/T cylinders go for $300 ebay...controls worth $300..part it out will get ya a darn good buck, (lower, wraps, middle section, (looks like a shortshaft) ignition..
re-doing the block is a better idea though, but it is junk. Basically the power head is trash.

it ran fine but low rpm and mid throttle was choppy... wot was fine and spun 5k - 5100 tilt trim works fine.... how diffucult is it to rebuild these?

I agree with SCATTY. Those PT parts are worth a bunch. He just rebuilt a sweet engine similar to yours, (it looks like a 20" 'long shaft' to me, but I could be wrong). It depends on where you are and how much of a hurry you are in. A good running 115 is easy to get in Seattle in the winter for less then $500, and yer PT unit would bolt up to any 1979 or earlier, (you could also bolt it to the later models with a few more but fairly minor problems). the 1500s and 1400s and 1350s are a little more money but can be had for under $1000. I rebuilt a 1500, (and it needed new pistons and a trigger which hurt me: real bad), for about $3000.00 or a little less, (if memory serves). I bet SCAATY is into his for at least that. But once ya got the bug: it's all over. The short shafts are more rare if that is what you have. JR

The powerhead, mid and lower are now apart ill look for a running powerhead for the next week or so but if i dont find any ill be selling these parts off

The previous owner informed me tonight the power tilt/trim unit and cyls were added in the mid 80's due to his handy cap... he only used the boat one or two times a year after that so this motor, particually the hydrolics, have pretty low hours.

The powerhead still has the factory seal on it.

does anyone have any leads to where i can find a good powerhead?

Search on here for Clams Canino. He has every 99.8 CID powerhead ever made. He surely has a 1350 powerhead for you. From him I think they run around a grand, and if so, that is a screaming deal! BTW, your motor can't be a '72. Mercury made the 1400 that year. Yours is either a '70 or a '71. And, that is definitely a 20" shaft motor.

Am Am I missing something here? That block looks like ya punched a rod through it or something??
Where ya located...west coast Puget Sound, I can point ya to someone..
(yep, second look says 20 inch shaft)

these rods use a nut and bolt not just bolts

OK, couldn't tell much from the pic. Whats wrong with it anyway, just a low cylinder? What PSI if so? And again, location?

top hole is down to 70 - 80 psi the rest are 120...

i dont have time to mess with it so im going to sell it
