Looking for part!

I am looking for a switch and cable assy #0385253 for 1972 50 hp johnson #50ESL72C. can anyone find one anywhere. I found several places that had a listing, but were notable to supply the part at this time.

Yes, they are getting pretty hard to find, and expensive. You don't say where you've tried, but Sea Way in Seattle is a good place to start. "http://www.sea-way.com/index.htm" without the (") marks.

That's the shift switch in the remote control. I believe his year has the neutral-start feature - 2 white wires in addition to the normal purple,blue,green. And a different plug.

Sea-Way has the part for 399.95 + shipping!! Any other places or ideas to fix the problem? The current switch is not usable. Is there anything that could be used in place of the switch, i.e. a newer version that could be modified to work?

Did you try sea-way .com in Seattle, WA as F_R suggested? They are the specialists.

I did try Sea-Way and they responded with a price of $399.95 + ship. I have tried Marine pros, but they are closed everyday except Friday - Sunday, so I will try them tomorrow. I already had looked up the part there and found it for $128.01, so maybe they have it.

Any other ideas?
