Re: looking for the correct wot rpms for my crossflow
but in my manual it says 4500-5500,

I can ... not likly anyone on the forum wrote the manual. What other clarification do you need?

BTW, lean toward the 5500 side ...
Re: looking for the correct wot rpms for my crossflow
Your motor will feel like it lost weight at 5800.
It will deliver its maximum horsepower running af 5500, and up to 5800. Propped so it reach 5800, it will have same horsepower up thru all rpm range, but be transferring them to boat thru a lower gear ratio. Easier on motor, and you will feel you have more power.
Re: looking for the correct wot rpms for my crossflow
With todays fuel the motor will live much longer if it can reach 5800 with an average load. The combustion temps will be lower, at any rpm above 2000, than the same motor set up at even 5500.
Re: looking for the correct wot rpms for my crossflow
the reason why i ask is because, im tring to set the advance timing, and not sure what i should do it at. also in the manual it said mini test wheel rpms 4800, well when i did my timing i was only able to get it up to 5K. Will my timing be the same at 5800? When does the 4degree advance kit in??
