Looking for year and Fuel ratio

Greetings,

I've recently purchased a 6HP Johnson Seahorse. The model number is J6RCOB and the serial number is G(or C)6015294.

Does anyone know what year this is, and what the fuel ratio should be?

I'm also unclear how the mixture control should be used.

Thanks

Re: Looking for year and Fuel ratio

It's a 1985 with a 50-1 ratio. 1 pint of oil to 6 gal. of gas.

Thank you R.Johnson. Any ideas about how to use the mixture control?

Sorry, What I mean is there is a control next to the choke that appears to be a mixture control, (richness?) but perhaps I'm wrong on that.

I'm unsure what this control is, and how to use it.

It's the low speed needle valve. Turning clockwise leans the mixture, counter clockwise richens the mixture. Turn clockwise until engine slows down, or cough's back. Counter clockwise until engine runs smoothest, and fastest.
