Re: loran antenna

Every LORANC unit I have seen including my own has a coupler of some sort that contains some electronics that attaches to a standard mount and then the LORANC antenna screws into the top of the coupler, is yours different from this?

Tappy22
I agree with Botin Bob. Just unscrew your old antenna from the top of your old coupler and screw in the new one. All Loran C antenna I have seen are 3/8 x 24. The Bottom of the coupler is 1 x 14. For it to work you must have the coupler.

Re: loran antenna

I have a similar problem, I have an old SeaRanger LCN-100 loran and the coax cable has broken off up inside the coupler, so where do I get a new coupler? All my research has uncovered is that SeaRanger is out of business and no one is making parts for them due to the eventual phase out of loran-c. Any ideas? I was thinking about cutting the thing open with my Dremel reattaching the coax and then epoxing the whole thing back together, but it will probally look like a$$ when I'm done. The loran is such a nice back-up to my GPS.
Thanks
