Loss of Oil Pressure

After running around for about an hour today, my '09 5.0 MPI Mercruiser (260HP, Alpha one, 28 hours on all) lost oil pressure suddenly (as I slowed down). I stopped immediately and was towed to the nearest dock. Is there a fuse or circuit breaker that I should check (hoping its something simple)?

Re: Loss of Oil Pressure

Did you check the dipstick? Did you check the bilge for oil?
May just be the sender ,wiring, or gauge. With ign on, ground the sender wire. Gauge should go full scale.
Or remove sender and screw in a mech gauge for testing.

How do you know that you lost oil pressure?

Re: Loss of Oil Pressure

BT - it has oil, I did check the dipstick and bilge first thing (forgot to add that - its been a fun night so far). Pete - you have a good question, I can't say that I am sure that I lost oil pressure - the gauge dropped to zero and the alarm went off, but I have a sneaking feeling something else is going on. I will try what BT recommends in the morning...thank you guys...

Just to add - I paid a dealership to winterize it last year...this is it's second year of service (bought it new late last summer).
