Nice job-- looks like you could hang a battleship off the transom!
I bought one of these at the dollar store. It's glass and I fill it with acetone. I stick the Bubble Roller in it and let it soak. I put the "Used" acetone in a coffee can with a lid on it for reuse for this kind of stuff.

Glad you have it tabbed in GT. Gotta feel good about that. Looks good.
I'd say that is within tolerance for sure....I think it came out great...I can just see you all frantic....dab.....dab...dab....
I say you had a great weekend. Hats off to you bro.
Edit: I forgot to thank you for doing all the beta testing.....so those of us that haven't started yet can learn from you experience
Nice work ! I'm with ya on the much deserved BBQ and beverage !!
If your in Florida and you don't like the weather just wait 10 minutes and it'll change for ya!
WOW Gus!! I finally caught up with your work. You are making this look easy man. Looking great! Love the shout out to iboats on the transom.
Well my friend, that's a job you certainly don't have to be a shame of.
At that stage I felt like a stone was taken of my shoulders, Admire your work and enjoy the feeling.
I must try that wonder mat of yours some day.
Since I have bought a lot of material from my local poly dealer he has promised me to order some samples for me.
Keep on going M8, I will look into this thread of yours ones in a while to see how you progress.
PS, I forgot my roller ones also but it was fixable with a lot of patience, a TV and a small screwdriver.
Hey!! We don't need to know about your private adventures, stiffened up the rear end, god bless! lolTransom looks awesome man, great work!

Agreed on the good work... Laughing, but not commenting, on the other..
Also, don't sweat the bubble roller....thanks to kent and oops I have started torching mine after each session... It burns off the resin and keeps it from getting gummed up... Works like a charm... Plus, playing with fire is more fun than paying in acetone .... (and the two should ever be used together or even near each other by the way...dont ask me how I know that...
Also, the bubble rollers are over rated in my opinion... I have started mostly using the foam roller and chip brushes...

Looking good GT. Once I got my trans wood glassed in was the first time I felt sure that I was going to be able to this fiberglassing thing.
Hey GT1M. Glad to see I?m not the only one in distress today (lol). It seems we were struggling with the same things at the same time today. We were caught off guard by the heat (quick kick off) and having wetted out our 1708 layer while my step son put in a layer of CSM, the 1708 didn?t want to stick at first. In panic mode, I, like you, thought about pulling off the 1708 and throwing it in the trash. But a bit more resin, the bubble roller (previously resined solid, but fixed), and all yours dabs (dab, dab, dab,?) and we got it down. A few air bubbles, nothing major, but as you said, what?s done is done. We too learned from our mistake.
As for shredding tarps, I don?t know how many we?ve gone through. Why can?t they make an inexpensive tarp that doesn?t shred?
Good to see your progress. I like your description of the PB in the drain plug. I?ll be there in a few weeks.
