Low Water Pressure

I recently bought a boat with a 03' Suzuki DT225 with 85 hours and noticed the water pressure exiting the tube seems pretty weak when running on the hose. Sometimes when running it on the hose, I have trouble even getting it to squirt water out the tube. I had the impellar replaced a few days after I bought it but the mechanic didn't say anything was wrong. When I've run it in the water, it's a little better but still seems weak compared to other motors I've run in the past.

I have a hunch the motor's lower unit might have sat in saltwater for an extended period of time. Can barnacles or other types of marine growth clog the tubes?

I'm thinking of removing the lower unit and taking a look at the tubes and also replacing the thermostats.

Has anyone enountered this problem on this type of motor and can they recommend a fix?
