Hey guys i have a 79 Merc 70hp motor and the lower unit just went. I was wondering what years lower units, and Hp will directly fit on? The cost to repair this one is not gonna work, so i am looking to get another one for it.. thanks... John
My 1979 40 HP lower unit was exactly the same as the 1979 70 HP I just got. What went on your unit I have most everything but the prop shaft and the casing? I have drive gear reverse gear pinion gear Clutch dog shifter shaft and drive shaft.
