Re: Lower unit oil
There should be 2 plugs, the one you found labeled "oil level."
And another one that looks the same but is approx 4" lower, It should be about 2" below the centerline of the propeller, possibly labeled "drain" or "fill".

EDIT: Disregard the following for your motor, it does not apply. (If there is another screw/plug near the front of the lower unit, at about the same height as the prop center, do not remove it.)

The motor should be vertical, not trimmed up.

The procedure is to remove the bottom plug, then remove the top plug, allow oil to drain.

Insert oil tube or pump into the bottom hole.
Squeeze the oil in, or pump it in if using a pump, until it starts to flow out of the top hole. It is now full.

Replace the top plug, using a new washer/gasket/o-ring.

Remove the oil tube/pump from the bottom hole and quickly replace the bottom plug, again using a new washer/gasket.

It helps to have 3 hands to do this.

If the old oil is creamy colored, you have a leak in the lower
unit and water is getting inside. Hopefully the new gaskets on the plugs will take care of it. Check the oil for water after your next trip to the lake.
