lower unit reassembly

I'm trying to put my 2000 yamaha 115 four stroke back together after changing the impeller. now its stuck in gear.<br />How do I fix this? and how do I keep this from happening?

remove your gearbox again and shift it too the neutral position via the small splined shaft. ensure the control is in neutral then refit the gearbox.
