lower unit

i have an 84 evinrude 70 that i'm looking for a spare lower unit for . i've found a few on e bay , but what i need to know is which units are compatable with my motor ? would a lower unit from a 50 horse work?

No the 70hp has a larger gearcase and differant driveshaft splines. Be carefull with the used parts swapping.

will a foot from a 60 , 65 , or 75 work as long as they are close in year model?
