lower units

is it possible to place a v-8 lower unit onto a v-6 lower unit or will the gear ratio be wrong or the lower unit be to big

it is gonna go on a omc cobra
both lower units are cobra lower units one is just off a v-8 and mine is a v-6

the upper units gear ratio changes with engine size on the cobras but the lowers remain the same answer: yes you can swap
