This is just a FYI on this unit.<br /><br />My software version in the unit was Ver 1.3.1 and I wanted to upgrade it to the current version.<br /><br />This required programming two differend SD Memory chips which sounded easy enough because they let you download the updated right off the internet.<br /><br />Here is what they don't tell you. If you have an older version of their software -- the download on the internet will not work unless you are using their card programmer. And their programmer formats the cards from a DOS enviorment.<br /><br />So the only realistic way to upgrade the software is to contact Lowrance and they will send you the pre-programmed cards and they install perfectly.<br /><br />With the old version installed -- the fishfinder would not even recognice the Lowrance GPS unit that was connected. After the upgrade it all worked fine the very first time.
