I'm looking for opinions on the lowrance x126DF vs the x136DF. From what I see on the lowrance website - the diff is that the 136 has the white background lighting vs 126's amber, 136 has 2500 depth vs 126's 1700 and the 136 has NMEA in/output capability vs 126's none.
I will primarily use this 99% in freshwater - on lakes / resorvoirs reach maybe 200 - 250 feet at the most. I'm assuming that since the 126 goes to 1700 depth there are no issues - both units use 4000Watts peak power.
Is the amber vs white backlighting a big difference - and would I care to have NMEA input / output ? I may be getting a GPS unit at some point - but only to pick 'spots' or waypoints - I want to use a separate unit.
thx for any replies
