Recently bought a used Lowrance x-65 with skimmer transducer and speedo-temp unit. Hooked it up correctly with 3a fuse, plugged it in, and nuttin. Checked power at battery- 12.46V, at power cord connector - 12.46V again. Checked power at power cord to speedo-temp cable .28V. If I press the power button I can see light at the edges of the screen. Sometimes when button is pressed blue verticle lines will appear, sometimes not. Light and lines go out when power button is released. When pushing cord into connector on head unit, it seems to back out, maybe 3/64" or so. checked and cleaned connector pins with crc cleaner. Everything looks good. Cannot seem to get any data to come up on the screen. Souind familiar to anyone? Thanks in advance to any help.....Bill

Hopes you didn't paid too much on that unit cause the display and/or the unit's cpu board is shocked. Send it to Lowrance and see how much it would cost to fix or just buy another one.

Re: lowrance x65 power up problem

You can call lowrance but pretty sure they will not repair it. Today if a unit is more than 1 or 2 years old they do not repair. Many times even unit still under warranty that you send in for repair they will reply back that part stock exhausted. They will give you and option for a upgrade for a fair price.

You can always call them but do not be suprised if they no longer repair that old a unit.

I agree with all the above but you might also check to be sure there is no button stuck in.
