Lowwer unit oil seal ?

I have a 1983 Merc 25hp. I am changing the oil seals. How do they go in? I'm guessing spring down on the deeper one, spring up on the top. Am I right?

yes, spring inward on inside seal, spring outward on outer seal....once you get them pressed in, apply grease between the two lips before installing carrier
