Macerator frozen?

Hey All,

I have a macerator on board, and when I flick the breaker on, the macerator doesn't turn on. The cabin lights dim, and the volt gauge drops a little when this happens, which makes me believe there is power draining somewhere, but nothing from the macerator. After a few seconds, maybe 5, the breaker will pop itself off, sometimes it will take 10-15 seconds.

No vibrations from the macerator, and no noise either. The hose from the holding tank has the correct flow direction so I don't think it's that. Everytime i fuel up (every weekend) I get a pumpout, so I never use the macerator, but I would like it to be in working order in case something ever happened.

Any thoughts?

in the title, i just used the word frozen referring to "stuck" and the impellor not turning. not literally frozen, weather isn't cold enough for that yet up here in boston.

Sounds like it needs to be pulled out and cleaned out. It may have something stuck in it preventing the motor to run. I had to do mine a couple of times and it sure isn't a pleasant job. One time it was a Lego block and the other was something women aint surpose to flush anyway :D
