personally i have not used it, i think it would be fine on the 3 to 9 hp if you fish very rough terrain. HP above that i think it would have more disadvantages in performance than benefits.

It looks like it would work ok.
I don't have one but i also don't go in rivers.
i would agree that it looks like a good idea for a smaller motor.
I don't think I would put it on a big motor or i/o but i have not eaten too many props.

Thanks for the responses !! I agree that anything that is added onto the engine will decrease performance with the added drag. Unfortunately I bought this boat to run up and down rivers in Arkansas and needed the prop protection. I have a 1997 Bass Tracker Pro16 with a 2-stroke 40HP Mercury and want the protection but not for the price of too much performance loss. Thanks for the feedback !!

If you get one, let us know how it does. I run the Cumberland River in Kentucky and have considered one of these since a rock or stump or some such (never saw it) cost me an LU a few years back.
