The worst that can happen is, they hatch in to flies, so get them with the fly spray then, and if your missus does look like springing you, then suggest a mouse must have died behind the bench and a fly got to lay eggs on the carcas.
An incecticide will knock them off pretty quickly....but I think you are running out of time.

use the wifes hair dryer and shove hot air in the area till you have dried out the magots that could be left. (No honey I don't know anything about your hair dryer not working) d:)

Throw a photo of John Kerry under the sink, then just grab them. As you know, birds of a feather....

No need to scurry around trying to catch em before they hatch. with nothing to eat they will just dry up and die.

If not just have a big fly wacker handy!!! 8)
