Hey there boating friends!
I'm fairly new to posting, although, I am NOT new to using iBoats as a point of reference when it comes to looking up answers. You guys and gals always have the right answers for me.
Here is a question I have and hope to get experience users feedback.

I need to finally replace my manifolds and risers. The engine is a 1999 Volvo Penta 5.0GL.
I am guessing that the previous owner hasn't replaced them since they still say Volvo on the (Or re placed them with OEM parts in the past)
Looking at the cost of replacing mine now, the OEM parts are so expensive.
Any other recommendations of after market parts to consider OR stay away from?
Also, I am ALL ABOUT supporting products made in the USA, so any that are, I'll consider that first.

Thank you all for your input.

Osco and Barr are USA made . . . Pretty much as good as OEM. GLM tend to be from China.

Thank you!
I'm leaning more towards the BARR.
BTW: Nice choice of boat there. My father in law owns a Formula 400SS. That thing is a BEAST!

Re: Manifold & riser opinions

I purchased a complete kit from ebasic power (Barr/Osco) and was very happy with both the price and the quality. I did get OEM Riser Gaskets from a dealer. GLM is not very good quality and are made from thin pot metal. I say this as my Barr/Osco's were very heavy. My neighbor accross the street got a GLM kit and they were far lighter out of the box than my 11 year old rusted out OEM Volvo stuff and he had a very difficult time getting them to seal up. Get the Barr/Osco kit and you'll be happy with them..
