Thanks on the house. Best part is there's 2 lakes within 15 min drive to the ramps.

You think there's enough room to drop and change out the oil pan??

Grab a tape measure and measure from bottom of oil pan to about 3" above 'V' then measure from gasket mounting point to bottom of deepest part of pan...looking at mine, there seems to be enough room? On the 4.3L I have no idea with out measuring. Bondo's usually correct. I will say, pull the drive, take out rear beanch seat backrest, loosen the engine mounts and cherry pick it enough so it's high enough to drop pan...you might not even need to remove bench seat back? You might just need a few inches?!

Never pulled motor... A bit overwhelming I think. Not sure. Gonna read up on it and see I guess.

It seems overwhelming...but they are designed to be somewhat modular in nature...once you disconnect fuel line, battery and a few other electrical connections, power steering hose and front/rear motor mounts they come out as a unit. If you cruise youtube, there are many videos of engines running on a pallet with a remote battery and fuel tank! I don't think I'd remove the whole enigine, just lift enought to get access under the pan to replace gasket. I pulled mine (with interior out) in about 25 minutes...put it back in myself in about 30 minutes using a cherry picker and dog leashes (for alignment). Get a buddy to come over (with barly pops) and help!

Ayuh,... Remember to pull the drive 1st, 'n you'll need to align it when ya drop it back in,...

Don't forget to drain the engine oil prior to dropping the pan...good thing you bought that alignment bar!

It will take far longer to do in the boat, if you can do it at all. When you do go to get a pan gasket get a reusable single piece one.

A oil pan serious...im never going to replace and starter again..and you did a oil pan..:facepalm:

So how many differnt angles did that take...on your head..hanging over the engine..triple knuckle drive...i am sure you used a pneumatic wrench....:laugh:
