The factory service manual. Mercury built the engine. Their manual is therefore the most accurate.

Obviously a factory manual is best but they are not always available at a reasonable price I have used Seloc and Clymer manuals for some years and, although you may have to use some deductive reasoning occasionally, those manuals have seen me through many motor servicings and rebuilds.
Ebay may be the place to look. I stay clear of these CD manuals. They are a pain to work with.

OEM Merc manuals are the only way to GO. Pricey, Yes.
I have bought merc manuals for 30 bucks on ebay. BUT you must Know your serial number.
