anything out there that shows detail and step by step procedure for rebuilding a 1996 evinrude 200hp,,,i have one manual for the 1996 but it skips so much detail

The factory service manuals are by far the best and most thorough. But even they do not get into step-by-step, bolt-by-bolt procedure. They are primarily written for the dealer's service shop and rightfully assume they know which end of the screwdriver fits the slot.

I've always thought the OEM manuals are the best.....I think they are not that hard to use and pretty much lead you through diassembly/reassembly. If your are handy with tools and watch how things come apart, take pictures if you have to, you should have not problems with the OEM manual.
