Mariner 200, How to test the stator?

How do i test the stator on my mariner engine? And also how do i test if the timing piece is good? Thanks guys.

How do i test them? How many volts should it be in what cables? How many Ohms in what cables?

You need a DVA to test the high and low windings in the stator the charging coils you only OHM test.
6 to 16 amp stators
Blue\Blue white to grd-- OEM 5000 to 7000 ohm CDI 2200 to 2400 ohm DVA 150+ volts
Red\red white to grd---- OEM 90 to 200 ohm CDI 30 to 90 ohm DVA 25+ volts
Yellow to yellow any continuity will work
40 amp system
Blue\blue white to grd-- OEM 1000 to 1600 ohms CDI 2200 to 2400 ohms DVA 150 volts
Red\red white to grd ---OEM 75 to 90 ohm CDI 90 to 100 ohm DVA 20+ volts
Yellow to yellow any continuity
Ohm testing won't show alot of stator problems, the use of a DVA is much better

I thought there was an easier way. Like you should have such and such volts when cranking in such and such cables and there should be such and such Ohms in such and such cables.

Lol but i guess its more complicated than that.d

CDM
capacitor discharge module

ADI
alternator discharge ignition

CDM, will have 4 wires running to it each mod
ADI will have 2 wire to each coil

what year is 200
the reason i ask is the test will be different

It is a 1988 engine. Today after some testing i got that the blue\white cable was not giving me any readings, ohms or volts. The circuit is open through that one. I need a new stator. :%

Before you spring for a new one, look at the old one and make sure it isn't just a broken joint where the lead is soldered in.
