Well I either have one spare brand new factory complete powerhead including crank, pistons and head for a Mariner or Yamaha at a bargain, or I am short all the rest of the motor less powerhead. Yes I ended up with this new block and was ready to bolt it to my Mercury 25, but discovered on this forum that I got the wrong one. This forum clarified that my new powerhead is a quality 689 block which is common on a lot of 30hp Mariners built by Yamaha and is also common in many Yamahas as well. I have discovered that Mercury late models below 30hp use a throw a way block which is not practical to repair. I]Mariners or Yamahas with 689 in the model or serial number is a match[/i] Too bad the Merc 25 is not this quality and can't be rebuilt cause they dont use a steel liner anymore. My 689 powerhead is old stock though brand new so I cannot take it back even though it won't fit the Merc. Bargain anyone either way. Shipping is about 35lbs UPS from AR or do you have a blown powerhead and would sell me your motor. What to do? Rons boat

Generally, Ron, we discourage offering items for sale on the board, because iboats sells engines, powerheads and parts.

We will have a low cost classified section for members to use soon.

Good luck. :)

Re: Mariner 30hp Block

I hope I didn't do something wrong cause I do apprecate their site. I guess I need to check to see if they have an engine that I could use. I would love to buy it from them if they should happen to have one. Thanks

I hoope it will be up soon, and cheap enough for most users. I allways thought it was needed, but understood why no "For Sail" Page.
