I recently inherited a old flat bottom fishing boat with a 40 mariner made in japan. I believe it will be ok with a few repairs. First, What year is it? The plate is printed ""MARINER 40 MADE IN JAPAN 6E9 S 101205". Second, the cable from the engine to the remote control was badly beaten by the sun and would crumble apart. i cut it way back near the engine where the cable was shaded by the seat and found 7 wires in nice condition. The colors are red, white, blue, black, brown, green, and pink. I'd like to wire in a key switch right at the end of that cable to test the engine and I don't need to worry with the neutral safety switch at this time. Later I will properly wire it in the remote control box. Can anyone help me withe the year and wiring a switch. I'll need to find a switch. Im guessing it will be a push-to-choke type. Thanks a million in advance
