Mariner 40 Magnum with problems...

Hi everyone.<br />This is my first post, hope there's someone out there that can help me.<br />Have a few issues with the engine and I'm planning a majour overhaul during the coming winter.<br />It's a Mariner 40 Magnum, serial # 09628260<br /><br />1. How old is it?<br /><br />2. I have had some bad experiences with oil injections in the past with horrible results...Is it a reliable system on the Mariner and what shall I look out for? I'd keep it if I can.<br /><br />3. Powertrim looses it's force about halfway up, it will lift the engine all the way but only in neutral. Can't see any leaks.<br /><br />4. Are there any easy ways to get a little more power from it? Making a 4 cylinder 40hp engine makes me think that there should be some extra, hidden ones. The boat/owner wouldn't mind an extra 10 or so.<br /><br />5. Have no manual for it. Are there anything else that should be done exept spark plugs, gear oil, greasing and cleaning the carb's?<br /><br />Thank you all in advance.
