Mariner 75hp, how many fireing pr. rev.

Hi All<br />I've installed my Tiny-tach on my engine.<br />Marina 75 hp 1984, but it will show double rev.<br /><br />It is a 4 cyl, does it fire twice pr rev. ??<br />otherwise the cable is to close to cyl 2#. I tried<br />to move cabel, no change..<br /><br />Mikael

Mikael,<br /><br />I purchased a Tiny for a Honda 35hp 4-stroke. I was aware of the possible problems and called Steve at Tiny's. He pointed out that I needed a version with 'filter' to avoid interferrence from other cyls'. sparks.

Remember to avoid fitting the pickup wire close to the lead ends - if the high-voltage makes it's way to the instrument it'll toast...

A four stroke only fires every other rev, while a 2-stroke fires every rev. A four-stroke tach would read double on a 2-stroke...<br />- Scott
