I have a Mariner Magnum 40 that I have replaced all the electronic components with exception of the strator to try and correct the issue of having NO fire through the coils and to the plug. I have tested or have had tested all conceivable components with no avail. One time it will start and then the next several attemps it will not start. Like stated above, I am getting NO fire at the plug. I have not replaced the strator but have all other electronic components on the side of the engine. I have had the engine in the shop and they can not seem to tell me what the issue is with said engine. Does anyone have an idea as to where I need to troubleshoot next?

Wow, that really stinks hotwhl44! Man those components cost a lot. I am keying on the fact that you say this engine starts "sometimes and doesn't other times". I tend to think it might have something to do with grounds or moisture. I bet you have the manual for this motor if you have replaced all this. There is a ground for almost every component in the electrical system. With a crummy ground there is no complete path for the circuit. Check all the component grounds. This is a good motor, I have the same one and have worked on it extensively. I have the manual and can take a look sometime in the next couple days to look at some electrical schematics. Don't get discouraged it is probably something simple.
