Re: Mariner/yamaha 8b 1982

See I had the obligatory nada response :(

Update now got this engine to run by making one carb out of the two I had now to get the engine to run at idle...anything below third throttle and she dies. Pull the choke out one yank at wot and she starts straight away. She will also run at 1/3 wot no worries just not below this...plugs are a dark brown which indicates correct fuel mixture I am maybe thinking duff capacitors...

Re: Mariner/yamaha 8b 1982

Hi once again,

After nearly a year of letting the old girl lie in the back of the shed I had another attempt at sorting her out today. I can now get her to run at about 1/3 throttle and she will rev freely but still have the bogging down at low rpm problem.

I have tried adjusting the idle mixture screw both in and out in increments of a 1/4 turn but to now avail..maybe someone else with one of these motors will see this thread and shed some light on this problem.

please dont post to inactive topics

after 90days w no new posts by the original poster (or OP, which was Lubos), consider then closed and for research only

look thru the adults only stickies at the top of every motor forum home page. You'll find links for manuals. Be aware Iboats doesnt maintain or own those pages and has no control over them. They crash often and for long periods of time fairky frequently.

be advised that some 'free manual download' sites are phishing scsms
