Obviously simply cutting the line to at least give the marlin a 1/2 chance did not even occur to these cowboys.

Nothing to do with Mother Nature...

An exhausted fish, that was restrained....as a result of human intervention.... had no chance against an alpha predator. That deck was seriously stacked.

I just commented that it would have leveled the playing field a lot if the guys had simply cut the line when the shark showed up.

We "Almost seen stupid get fixed", If it was not for the fact the stupid marlin got in the way, JAWS would'da got the camera man and possibly one or two fishermen>>

Friends were fishing yesterday for Cobia and a big Bull Shark ate a nice one before we could get her to the boat.

As a billfisherman I don't even like bringing Marlin on deck for photos, unless the angler really wants one. Those fish are my friends and I hate to see one destroyed like that. That said....I would rather have a shark eat one than some idiot bringing one to the dock for photos.
