Re: Mars Mission

hello
I think its way cool that it was actually accomplished. I think it may have to do with finding little green unbiased men to tell us which is better E-TEK or 4 stroke and synthetic or dino oils :) :) . that should make someone mad and get them invaded. :) :)
Yall have a nyce day now ya heah :)

Re: Mars Mission

Just my opinion, but, I believe that Humans, as a species, must continue to explore. The exploration of another planet could possibly change the future of all humans on this planet. Who knows, maybe 50 years from now, they find a way to inhabit Mars. Maybe we do find evidence of life on Mars. Maybe we find the cure for cancer in some form on the Martian planet. The possibilities are endless.
Good thing we didn't quit exploring when everyone thought the world was flat.

As far as the money is concerned, the space program generates thousands of jobs. .....and there are plenty of Government funds available to take care of the problems on this planet, money is not the problem, Politicians are.

I for one say that we continue to explore, because you never know what you might find.

Re: Mars Mission

It looks like a nice place to live. All those billions years of age and just a thin layer of dust. Heck, I get an inch of dust on my headboard every year. :D

Yep, billions of years old, only touched by space debris. Yep, we were the first there all right, and also first to leave behind litter. :D

A large color panorama image (13mb) is available at the site below. An amazing pic, but will take a long time w/o dsl or equiv. After download, you will see a zoom tool. Pick and click any region, and the big pic w scroll bars (top and side) will appear.
http://marsrovers.jpl.nasa.gov/home/index.html

Re: Mars Mission

A: I agree with what SS MAYFLOAT said on the subject.

B: We need to go take back all of our probes and other expensive equipment that the Martians have been keeping for decades. Down right rude I'd say
:D :D :D

crab bait
mentioned two PBS special shows.

The first about the rover and all it took to build and land it..

The second was on finding water in 2 million year old salt crystals here on earth and the little life form coming back to life and multiplying.

Both well worth watching!

On the second show with the salt crystals as soon as the little things came back to life and started multiplying my wife and I looked at each other and said.. whoa, is this a good idea??
Jurassic Park came to mind!

Just my thoughts

Re: Mars Mission

link, i'm glad i didn't see that show, because i'd have been glued to the tv! that's great - find an extraterrestrial living cell, and what the heck, let's bring it up to full potential

what carpy said, lets go out & explore, keep on doing it, until we know better... ;) it costs $$$, but it seems worthwhile to me.

Re: Mars Mission

in the techno/exploration world this un-manned probe stuff is awlsome..!! it's IMHO,,a good bang for the buck.. the stuff our scientist learn on these missions is incrediable.. an the techno advances we obtain.. just from ,,'we need this part,,so we gotta make this part' is the coolest.. if you don't ever need a weggit.. your never gonna invent a weggit.

this is truley where the 'trickle down' theory really works.. advances do eventually work there way down to us...

TANG anyone..??

Hey!

I just found a solution to all the illegals...

Send them to Mars!

Heck, they could hollow the mountains out, and create a nice place to live for the White man when we get ready to colonize.

And we wouldn't have to worry about them flooding into the USA!

SWEET!

H.
