And that as they say "Is a good thing". She was convicted on all four counts. The stock in her company has stopped trading, I wonder why? Doesen't she want to take her lumps in the market like everyone else. I say let it go to 3 cents like enron did. Good riddance Martha...

She owns 2/3 of her stock anyway, she'll be able to minimize any downswing.
I do hope she gets at least a year in jail (wearing nothing but an orange jumpsuit and a serial number, biotch)

If she gets any time, it will be in a country club somewhere.

I like Martha. Yeah, she probably gets cranky occasionally, but gotta weigh what she has produced vs taken. Not disagreeing w the verdict, she'll have to take her medicine.

Martha Stewart!!

I don't know the lady, so I can't say that I like or dislike her. I LOVE all WOMEN ;) ;) I wish that I was her " Beau!!!
Is she scruntinized because she is a woman and/or a women of MONEY ???
As I said in an earlier post when all this started about her, a man by the name of "MILKIEN" bilked millions from the stock market. He got 6 months in jail and only paid a stipend of a million bucks.
She didn't take any money from anybody else. She is not like them "ENRON" exsecs. No employee lost there job or ther life savings.
Yes some people rushed to buy her stock only for what they thought to be there personal gain if she won.

Are we going to prosecute her because she is a women to the full extent of the law. Most murders don't get that.
Her gain was $40-50,000.00 with no one else hurt.

My personal thought is to maybe fine her a million or two which she can difinitly afford and maybe a suspended sentence.

Re: Martha is Guilty

I just caught most of her life story on courtTV, she's been a ***** since highschool, remember the time she blocked the limo ofr turning around in her driveway up in Maine and made a idiot out of herself yelling and swearing? Thats the real Martha, all she does is have people show her how to do stuff and then go on TV and do it, she has little tallent of her own, she may be ritch, thats not a nice person.

I can't wait to see what she does with her prison cell :D

yes I agree with you on one or two points

She difinitly puts on a fake smile. I've heard that she does not smile off camera.

Saw a show to a camping episode for women which she was hosting and she difinitly had her thumb up her a$$.

Re: Martha is Guilty

Well let's see what sentence she gets handed. One thing for sure, it points out a flagrant problem in the justice system; a blatant hypocrisy. Let's take two people:
First off, I am no fan of Martha Stewart, as well as Bill Clinton. Okay, now you know where this is going...my point is I have no favorable bias for either.
One can sit in court, under oath, lie through the teeth, get caught, and nothing happens.
Another one does a similar crime (perjury), and is looking at 20 years in the big house.
Murderers have gotten off lighter.
Something's askew.

I agree that when it comes to holding the rich accountable there are better places to start than Martha. I can say I hope she does get some hard time out of this if for no other reason to prove that if you are filthy rich there is the possability that your criminal acts are punishable by more than a trivial fine. Yes if you have Marthas net worth even a couple million would be trivial.

Fresh off the press:

She deserves to go to to the big house and pay a heaping fine, her celebrity status should not be part of the equation.

Maybe now she won't be able to support the Democratic party in the manner she has in the past, "its a good thing." :)

Re: Martha is Guilty

the trial had too much stage direction and redirection (when they "dropped" charges in the middle of the trial)for me to believe. If i were on the jury,,she would have went home.
