Just pick up some teak and build a new one. If that doesn't have a gap in the front center, the new one should have to allow the shank of the anchor to come up top while the tines stay on the underside. That should secure the anchor while you're underway.

Dont rebuild it, redesign it.

You want your pulpit to be substantial, it takes a lot of stresses. Take a look at other boats and rework it to mimic what you like.

Damn, that's a beaut... I don't think I have the technical know-how for that... I'd love to make a fiberglass one (kind of dislike the wood look...), but I have no idea where to even start...

It does have a gap. It worked properly until the thing snapped, lol. You can kind of see it in the second pic..
