I have a 77 Wellcraft suncruiser 2000 and I have been doing all the maintenance I can since I dont have a crystal clear picture of the history on this boat. I was told the outdrive was just rebuilt. I changed gear fluid and it looks good during the impeller & housings replacement. I noticed my lower fluid drain plug is the standard non-magnetic type. Should I replace it with a magnetic type I keep seeing on the alpha 1's? Im big into preventative maintenance and simple solutions.

What I have now:

What I want to replace it with:

Interesting, but not very helpful. If you're working on the drive, we need to know what drive it is, doesn't matter what boat it's in.

 Yep, it is... And you would have got the same answer (as Bondo) from me had I looked properly...
