Me Again - Longshaft lower end disassembly ?

Got the foot off and am ready to start the impeller rebuild, however the crankshaft/gear shaft is still in the extension area. It appears that it is a two piece unit that may come apart but its not budging. Ideas? Suggestions?

JT - now you dont specify what motor, but on most, the driveshaft should stay in gearunit, waterpump is located on top of unit, just disasemble waterpump housing and change impeller. Still leave driveshaft in place.

1996 Johnson Sailmaster 8.0, the driveshaft, I assume, has a spline on the end and it is in the extension housing not the lower unit. And according to the pictures in the manual it should have come off with the lower unit, but it did not.

JT,<br /><br />The drive shaft is one piece. The lower foot extension is just that. If you're sure you have all the bolts out, give it a TAP with a rubber mallet.
