Re: **** me off

No Fuel in the bilge thank god but what got was after I walk to the pumps and borrowed a small fuel can from someone filled it up went back to the boat put fuel boat there was not enough fuel in the tank for the primer ball to pick up. Back to the pumps for another can of fuel put that can in still not engough for the primer ball to pick up the fuel from the tank so back to the pumps. This time I was smart enough to unhook the fuel line from the inboard tank stick it into the gas can pump some fuel to get the ball hard and some fuel into the fuel rail hook the lines back up and then off to the pumps for the forth trip with the boat this time for another 100 buck in fuel. All I wanted to do was go out for a hour or so fish spent must of that time getting the boat to run so as you can see I was starting to get a little P*** off.

I've been a security supervisor for a company that did several marinas, while I don't know the marina or the guards in question, if they came by water, unless they were seen on the usually hourly rounds, they're almost impossible to catch. We had enough on the water thefts I hid in the Bayou in my personal boat to catch these guys in the act. It sucks, gotta lock your stuff up even when it's being watched.

The cops told me that they had 29 break-ins in that area in 1 week. They also told me that the thiefs would focus on houses at Christmas and New Year. !

That is true. Any holiday where the renters, occupants, homeowners, etc., etc., are not home is prime for the criminals. College students are usually victims of it the most, when they live off campus, and go home for breaks.

In reference to the security, it sounds like it could be improved. Camera's help, especially if they are of good quality, but unless the person looks at it directly or a vehicle is involved that is identified, it is worthless. You need good identifiable properties. Nothing beats manpower to actually walk around and check things out...but that costs money. How about background checks on the employees? Maybe hire off duty LE Officers that can actually arrest and know what to look for. And yes a locking gas cap is the best option.
