Pat, Tank console is aftermarket. It has a G (trike) motor and I hung a mikuni dirt bike carb on it :D . WLA frame and front end, homemade rear fender. Yeah I like to lace wheels too but those 45 hubs have long spokes on one side and little bitty ones on the other. Any donations of original parts from York or Millwuakee are welcome. Actually I have everything to go original with it but it is kinda cool like this.

That's a very sweet bike. If I ever throw my leg over another one, it will be a classic HD, either a pre-war bike or a 1956 DuoGlide :D

 Gee, thanks for the compliment... I take any I can get :D

The goat is a Nubian. This picture was taken last year and he wasn't full grown yet! I'm about 5'10", so you can tell, he's pretty big. Good thing he was a bottle fed kid. Only about 250 lbs. here. They get up to as much as 300! They are the largest of the 'dairy' breeds. A Nubian doe (please, not a nanny :( ) will produce up to about a gallon a day! Well, that's it for today's 'goat' lesson ;)

I may not be much help with 'boat' motors, but if anyone wants to know about goats, I'll be glad to share.

Here's a URL for the little classic Glaspar and Johnson that is the current project:
http://webpages.charter.net/suzieb1/JohnsonImages/Lido.htm

I second the motion that everyone should post pictures. I've really enjoyed seeing them. I only recently joined this forum and it's nice to 'meet' everyone that posts!

Hey Jim.....
I know that's not a submarine prop, and it looks like Navy work clothes.... have I got two out of two right so far? Now, can you please tell us what kind of ship the prop goes to? Aircraft carrier maybe? That's just a guess.

Many times when anchored in San Diego Bay, I could sure feel the wake as all the big props went by leaving the bases there for parts unknown. Gentle rocking to sleep! I DO miss that part of living on a boat!

Rules of the Road = TONNAGE! Especially in San Diego Bay.

Is it the Ronald Reagan??
BTW Byte Walker, there are lots of folks around that raise goats, and I never could figure out why. Is it for the milk/cheese? Is there a market for the meat? Or is it because they are so cute? If I had room, I think I would have some goats and llamas. I like the way goats go "baa-aa-aa" :D

SBN, do you know you can make Shofars from thier horns? If you take their horns when they die (slaughter, old age...what ever) is there any way I could get a three + foot long horn from you? I would love to have a shofar to blow at Passover, Christmas etc, but they are a bit pricey.

SW, I will check and see if we have anything around.
Mind you, we don't slaughter them, they are for sale, but will check and see if there is any around at the farm.

WOW! Thanks. Have you ever heard a shofar being blown? There two different types, the most popular among non Jews if the kind made from the same kind of horns on your goats. The most popular and historically correct among the Jews is curved like a mountain goat, resembling a chambered nautilus. The shofars made from the horns of your type goats can produce 5 to 7 differnt notes and make your hair stand end, sort of like my bag pipes :D
Thanks for looking :)

That prop above is on a Perry class frigate. In this case the Underwood (FFG 36). That picture was taken when I was the Chief Engineer and we drydocked her in Haifa Israel to change out the prop (screw). Don't bother asking why please.

Soulwinner asked:
"I never could figure out why. Is it for the milk/cheese? Is there a market for the meat? Or is it because they are so cute? If I had room, I think I would have some goats and llamas. I like the way goats go "baa-aa-aa"

So then I said:
You get out what you put in.... or so the saying goes about lots of things in life. Goats that only eat brush give lousy milk. We grain feed 2x per day. Almost no browse. Love the milk and cheese. Only milk a couple year round though. Also raise some for meat. Great when they are grain fed. No gamey taste, like venison (can you tell I don't care for deer meat?). Nubians are also cute :D And goats say Maaaaaaa...... at least that's what it sounds like to me. :)

Spinnerbait, you have quite a collection of breeds at your place. Cashmere is something that most people never would think of coming from a 'goat'. I've seen some really beautiful things made from cashmere!
