Re: Please don't wish me Happy Memorial Day

It is a correction that will stay with me for the rest of my life.

That speaks volumes. Thank you for feeling that strongly...

Re: Memorial Day

We have a local, call in AM radio station that broadcasts to 38 states at night, when they are allowed to boost their signal. They discussed this very issue. The main theme was, "why do people say "happy Memorial Day" and it was carried on, through the shows of all but the afternoon sports talk guys.

I'm glad they did this, because it made a lot of people adjust their thinking and understand the true nature of the holiday.

Re: Memorial Day

I get your point and embrace it, but didn't the Marines, Sailors and Airmen have something to do along the way as well?

USMC 88-94 (Liberia, GW1, Somalia)

Don't forget the USCG, which has participated in every war the US has ever been in. I know that the term sailors could apply, mist most people have no idea of the role that the USCG takes in times of war and conflcit.

Re: Memorial Day

Sort of redundant now, but I have to quote my 14 year old grandbuddy about this thread;

"Yeah, Granpa. Sort of like 'Happy 9/11".
