Merc 150 Optimax Fuel Leakage

I have a 150 Optimax DFI on which I recently replaced the LP and HP electric fuel pumps (after storage and ethanol seizure). The motor now runs but leaks a significant amount of fuel through the exhaust housing at idle and increasingly more at higher engine speeds. Could the fact that I didn't replace the HP pump seals when I changed the pump be a factor? I can't see any leaks around connections (though it's difficult to be sure that there are none). I ran the boat at speed only once after changing the pumps and it ran erratically (surging) for a few seconds when the throttle was advanced but settled down and ran well when it reached planing speed. Has anyone experienced a similar problem? Any advice will be appreciated.

Sounds like you also have at least one stuck injector.

Thanks for the response, I'll have the injectors checked.
