After rebuilding the carb, boy was it dirty, the engine is now quite difficult to start but runs and idles fine after it's run for a couple minutes.
It's been cold here, and humidity is high so
I suspect the choke isn't adjusted properly. Does anyone have the steps to adjust the choke if it can be?
The carb is a 2bbl rochester.
Thanks

ok, I did a search and found that the bimetalic spring thing should close the choke butterfly so I'll check that sunday morning. Is there a fast idle cam or anything that needs adjustment?

thanks

Take a 3/16 drill bit and place that between the air horn and the choke flap with the choke cold and on. Adjust the bi metal spring to hold the flap at the distance of the bit distance from the air horn. That should be close enough to get the choke working. The choke pull off should work after it starts.

Do this adjustment on a cold engine.

Don't forget to set up idle screws with vacum gauge.

One other thing, should the engine be at operating temp before setting the mixture screws?

thanks
