Hi, it's me again.
I'm helping with Russ' boat this Saturday and I have a few questions/comments.

This is a '71 merc 165, pre alpha as far as I know. The top cover has a loop/attachment hole for something....

I have a list of 16 things I want to fix but the main thing is hydraulics.
The leg will not trim, go up or down and is actually stuck at an angle. ie. not going all the way down. This is affecting getting on plane.
I know there is air in the system from the sounds the pump is making.
I want to detach the hydro rams and see if the leg moves freely up and ALL the way down. If it does I'd like to get the air out of the system and make sure the rams move freely etc. and see if I can get it to work without spending all day on one thing.

My questions are;
1. What size flare wrench do I use on the lines? I have 3/8 in my head for some reason.
2. Is there a kit to re and re the rams, seals etc?
3. We have a shop manual but is there any procedure you recommend or anything I should look for?
4. Can I use the hydro's without the leg attached? Or will I pop something?

If I can't get them to work, the main goal is to get the leg down, test and then go fishing.
