I'm sorry for so many questions.
I am gratful so many people don't mind helping.

This same darn boat again. I'm gonna call it Russ' Boat. :) So anytime you see a subject of Russ' Boat you'll know. :D

Anyway, while under power, it is very easy to steer one direction (can't remember which) but that other way is quite hard.

I remember reading about the zinc fin? and if it's off to one side it would cause this? or what would cause this?

thanks

Jeff

The zinc fin is also a trim tab. Loosen the allen bolt that holds it and adjust it a few degrees to push the leg in the direction you need help turning the wheel. If it is hard to turn to the right, adjust the trailing edge to the left. When you get it right, the wheel should turn evenly in both directions (at cruising speed) and you should be able to let go and track straight.

It is normal to need a slight angle on the tab. It is caused by the action of the prop.

Jeff,
In another of your posts you state the Drive Trim is somewhat inoperatable.....
This could Also have alot to do with your handling problems...

You're right Bondo!

DUH! Yes, there is also a trim/hydraulics issue.

This boat is such a basket case.

Thanks for pointing that out as part of the cause.

Jeff

jam:

The trim tab is not necessary with power steering. It can be left on or off if you have PS, or put in a blank to reduce drag.
