MERC 200 EFI 2001

[FASTFISHER]

I WAS OUT YESTERDAY AND THE BOAT WAS RUNNING FIND AFTERLAST SPOT WENT TO TAKE OFF AND BOAT WOULD NOT GET ABOVE 2000 RPMS. IT WAS VERY COLD OUT AND IN NEUTRAL IT WOULD REV AS HIGH AS I WANTED TO GO . I NEED HELP SOMEONE SAID POWER PACKS WHAT DO YALL THINK.

first thing is buy a manual. second is buy a peak reading voltmeter or a Fluke or other DVM that has a peak volt adaptor. did you check your fuel system? when was the last vapor seperator filter replacement? you know the cheap one on the high pressure pump.<br /> if you toss parts then switch boxes are about 190 or so apiece. the stator is about 360 the trigger is about 180 the ecu is about 900 or so. manuals are much cheaper. the factory manual gives a desription on how the ign and fuel system work.<br /> good luck and keep posting

hello<br /> I forgot you will need a compression guage and a spark tester. make sure the engine compression is good first then test spark. could be a bad low pressure pump or a coil. thats why I said a methodical test of the ign and fuel systems but start with a compression and spark test. some of the guys here have made some good ones out of scrap.

You may also want to check the caps lock on your computer people might accuse you of "YELLING" with all caps. <br /><br />By far the best thing to start with is the Mercury Factory manual. They have all the steps for troubleshooting.<br /><br />Good luck<br /><br />RFish >()>
